With the NZ super 12 players having to play 50% NPC games next year, each super 12 team shoud have atleast 1 team within their region so they can give them sum extra players because of salary capping. With that in mind Otago has Southland, Canterbury will hav Nelson Bay-Marlborough, Wellington hav Taranaki, Waikato hav Bay of Plenty and Auckland being the biggest hav North Harbour and Northland. Auckland already hav 2 extra teams so they shoudnt hav a 3rd coz dat wid b stupid. So that leaves jst Hawkes Bay nd Manawatu both within the wellington region. Hawkes Bay only lost 2 games last year which was both times 2 Nelson Bay, those r the only 2 games they have lost in the last 4 seasons. Nd alot of great players hav come frm Hawkes Bay lyk Tane Randell (fmr abs captain), Mat nd Greg Cooper (fmr abs, also brothers), Greg Summerville (current all black and canterbury player), Danny Lee (fmr all black nd current otago half back), Roger Randle (current Waikato player), Hikawera Elliot (current NZ under-19 nd magpie prop , future all black nd hurricane) plus within the current Hawkes Bay Magpies r ex-hurricanes nd ex-super 12 players with also young future all blacks or nz sevens players. Nd napier also hawkes bay hosts a super 12 game evry year nd r hosting Lions test Trials this year. So I think The magpies shoud get a spot in next years Premier division in the NPC.
