Need help with "Speed ups" [Archive]

Hello,
I really need help with the gold time of the intermediate level "Speeds up".
I already read the FAQ linked on GameFAQs.com,but I can't get it (I've been tryin for over two hours at sunday...)
My best is 35.99 so far but gold would be 35.00m or better.
Where should I use the nitro?? At the beginning of the speed ups,at the end,or all the time on the speed ups??
Should I hold the button down,or give it a little on-off-on-off???
And how many nitro should I take when I first pass them?The FAQ says "the last few"... Should I take half of them or just the last 2-4??

Please help me,I'm really addicted to this game...

SPEED UPS

This is all about nitrous management … it’s fairly easy once you know how to do it.

GOLD TIME (35.00 seconds)

Drive from the start and turn right at the fork. Miss all of the early nitro’s and just collect the last few. Turn round 180º at the end of the speed-ups and boost back, through all the speed-ups. Drive over they junction and then boost over the next lot of reverse speed-ups. As soon as you get to the end stop boosting, then drive through the checkpoint, and then boost over the next speed-ups.

If you’ve done it right you should have enough boost left, to boost up the hill – stop boosting in the air to save some nitrous and then boost to the finish when you land.

Dan's way of doing it:

Drive from the start and turn right at the fork. Collect all the nitrous so you have a full tank. Drive around the next section of track use a small amount of boost if you like (but not too much), continuing driving straight at the y-split and on to the checkpoint. Do a handbrake turn at the checkpoint then boost back over the reverse speed-ups. Turn left at the y-split and boost up the hill and to the finish. You should be able to complete the level with over 4 seconds to spare.

ALL STARS (10 stars)

Drive from the finish and turn right at the start. Collect some of the nitrous but not all. Drive around collecting the stars and then over the junction on to the next lot of speed-ups and through the checkpoint collecting the rest of the stars. Drive over the next junction and you’re back at the nitrous again. Collect the rest of them (which should be enough to top you up) and then drive round to the junction. Turn right and boost up the hill and to the finish (don’t boost in the air if you’re running low on nitrous, you’ll need it to get over the last few reverse speed-ups)

BONUS CREDIT

Drive from the start and turn right. Collect some nitrous but not all. Drive around to the junction and turn right, boost up the hill and over the top on to the final patch of speed-ups before the finish. Handbrake turn 180º and then using the additional acceleration of the speed-ups, boost over the small hill. You will now fly in the air and you should be able to land on the island and collect all the time-bonuses. Drive off the island and collect the bonus credit.

Now drive off that island and turn left, collect the rest of the nitrous and then follow the route as for All Stars (‘cause you’ve still got the checkpoint to go through). To minimise nitrous usage, don’t boost over the speed-ups that are in the direction you are travelling.
