Ok team, we need to get a few things straight. A new team does not mean that you can bargain your way up the team. As it stands we have 12 members and those 12 are guns. I do not intend on losing any of you nor gaining others. I am disappointed we lost Jono but it is his loss.
These are the squad members at present:
STICKY WICKETS:
Pretzel (opening bat)
bunniesfan (top order bat)
brisrabbits (middle order bat)
BMT (middle order bat/keeper)
Midnight (middle order bat/keeper)
Speirz (opening bat/spinner)
Flash_305 (middle order bat/fast)
Stevil (lower order bat/spinner)
CowboyGed (spinner)
Sullo B (fast bowler)
Paddy*Cowboy (fast bowler)
AlexTrevalion (middle order bat/fast bowler)
Now let's focus on the ODI series ahead after a successful test series. All will get a go over teh length of the series. Alex, you will no doubt get a chance soon.

You guyts have been great but Me, my wife, and our son al wanted to move to CooK town where we can live a happly life.
I see this as a career move change and hopefully it pays off... I like to thank Sticky Wickets for bringing me into their squad and i was heaps greatful that i was apart of the winning side of the series.
But now i look forward on winning titles with the Cyclones.

You'd be surprised, most people are shocked by them ;) even me since they are normally an attempted top spinner or wronger gone wrong :o

If a spinner bowls a beamer it should go out of the ground (no offence), if a fast bowler bowls a beamer then it is different.

which is why people are shocked when they come out ;) I never had one hit outta the park an actually taken a wicket off one. My bowling is generally pretty accurate in flight an length, they get into a set pattern an when these come out it shocks them. In all fairness I've only ever bowled probably 3 as a spin bowler.
Never bowled any in my younger days as a swing bowler.

I tend to find that if the batsmen has a swing, the bowler will get away with it; but if the batsmen blocks it, ducks or lets it him, it will be a no ball. I've got for wickets with beamers believe it or not. My best one was was when the batsmen charged halfway down the pitch, the ball had slipped out and went over his head and hit the top of middle. On a batting note beamers and bouncers are my favourite balls to hit. Of the spinners they usually go for six.

I know and when they pop up, it is unexpected but the batsmen should have enough time to get into position to hammer it.

another thing, for team conraderary, im suggesting players player awards after every match, the old voting system, and we tally the votes at the end of the season, would be fun and keep people interested, what do u reakon skip?

If you struggle with full tosses don't try to hammer them, just try to place them into the gap. Full tosses are the easiest balls to place into the gap. On a normal outfield they will always go to the boundary.

that was a long time ago, like when i was 15 playing mens comp out at home, now i find them easy and i agree, any bat on them and they are 4 runs. and even then they were being caught at the boundary not like bowled or anything but thanks for the advice anyways

I've only bowled one, it was a high, flighted doosra gone wrong that actually managed to go over the batsman head and land on top of the stumps:eek:
He was given not out though for it being a no ball.

I've bowled beamers before. It's always when i go for the faster ball that comes out of the front of the hand. I've also hit kiddies on the helmet back in junior cricket because i'd give the ball plenty of air.

Exactly right. I plain forgot. Stevil is still vice captain. Pretzel is next in line however due to his lengthy commitment to the sticky wicket cause.

Left Hand Batsman, Middle order generally at 4 or as a number 5 specialist batsman (if required).
Also dabble with Greham Smith style offspin (basically a rarely used part timer)

I'd like a reasonable contract, namely
10 games
Option for an extra 5 games
A decent go at batting/bowling every 2 games, because as an allrounder, i know i can't expect to be at the top of the battting order and get 10 overs in an ODI
Stevil you can make any changes if you want but that's the one i'd like at the moment
Personally as far as a contracts go Stevil, I would be happy just to get a couple of games to see how I go. I would prefer to play tests, but will gladly take a spot if one comes up in the one day side

I'm currently in my office at my new job which I started today so I best not play on the forums to much. I'll agree to sign Yogi tho, we have been talking about it via PM for awhile an I'm glad to have him aboard. As far as contract talks go I will PM people when I get home tonight an nut out the finer details. I should be able to make everyone happy tho :)
Until then I'll agree to 3 match contracts to all of you (this is to prevent poaching, we will work out the extend contract when I get home). Sorry this isn't the best answer people wanted at the moment, but as i said when I get home I'll sort everything out for all of you :)

Maybe, but i've only been on more regularly lately cos HSC Trials meaning im spending alot more time on the PC, they end tomorrow so i doubt i'll be on as regularly for a little while

I've still got a couple of years before the HSC but I'm already dreading it. Anyway, if you try tomorrow you might get enough players and won't be required as stand in manager after that. Otherwise could try to find someone else on your team who is regularly online to negotiate contracts.

The SWXI are proud to say they have just offically contracted Sullo for the maximum of 25 games. Sullo has been a great player an loyal to the team so we are only happy to have him onboard for the long haul.

SWXI have beaten, no change that, THRASHED the AllStars to become the second an final team to secure a spot in the finals. The long awaited return of Bunnies Fan was a match winning performance which will surley ignite the team coming into the finals.

Cyclones are heavy favs going into the finals, the biggest mistake they could make is under estimate the SWXI whom have toppled the Cyclones more often then not this series.
