Melbourne Storm coach Craig Bellamy has named a 19-man squad for this Saturday's Round 24 clash against the New Zealand Warriors. The game will be played at Olympic Park in Melbourne from 7:30pm.
After last Sunday's come from behind 18-12 victory over the Brisbane Broncos, the Storm maintained their six point lead at the top of the 2006 Telstra NRL Premiership ladder.
On the other hand, the Warriors are coming off an equally impressive 26-0 win over the North Queensland Cowboys at Mt Smart Stadium in Auckland to leave themselves in 12th position.
Bellamy has made several changes to the squad that was named for the Broncos clash last Sunday.
Michael Crocker will miss this weekend's game after being suspended for two games for a dangerous throw against the Broncos. Jeremy Smith comes back into the squad in his place and will start the game on the bench.
Jamie Feeney and Jeff Lima come into the squad as 18th and 19th men.
Squad for Saturday's game:
Starting team:
1. Greg Inglis
2. Matt Geyer
3. Matt King
4. Jake Webster
5. Steve Turner
6. Scott Hill
7. Cooper Cronk
8. Antonio Kaufusi
9. Cameron Smith
10. Brett White
11. David Kidwell
12. Ryan Hoffman
13. Dallas Johnson
Interchange:
14. Garret Crossman
15. Jeremy Smith
16. Adam Blair
17. Nathan Friend
18. Jamie Feeney
19. Jeff Lima
(two to be omitted)
Who is Jeff Lima?? Its still a strong side IMO but the Warriors never go down without a fight, I predict a 14 point win to the Storm.

I don't like Inglis at fullback but Lima was from France. I don't think he'll play though

The warriors season will rely on this game, that will give them the win. Say bye bye to eleven in a row!:p

I don't think that side will be able to beat Melbourne, especially at the Graveyard. The only positions you have us beaten are the starting props.

Vatuvei beats Geyer
Ropati is Similar to Hill
Warriors Props > Melbourne Props
Guttenbeil > Kidwell
Hohaia > Webster
And the rest the storm win in.

Yeah I know, thats why I said bye bye eleven in a row.
Storm have to lose some time and if it is bad, cold and wet the Warriors will be in with a chance.
I am looking forward to this game, so please don't let the ref be Steven Clarke!!! :(

Kidwell is about even with Guttenbeil, Warriors props are better but ours have stood up to some of the best packs in the NRL including the Broncos & Bulldogs. Vatuvei isn't better than Geyer, Vatuvei is too hot & cold, Geyer is very consistant, Vatuvei is better on his day but you never know when he's going to give the goods. Hohaia > Webster??? LMAO are you kidding yourself son? Webster is one of the form backs of the comp and Hohaia is out of position in the centres, Webster > Hohaia easily.
Id have to agree with the hohaia thing, Webster >>>>>>> Hohaia (in the centres anyhow). At least they havent put wairangi koopu in the centres again though, iam thankful for small mercies.

beating the cowboys at home 26-0 is a good achievement for them but theyre playing a on fire storm at home mind you .
36-0 is just my opinion.

Hohaia, centre?
we have a bad coach hopeing he gets the sack at the end of the year with the form hohia showed last week how can cleary have left him out of the team for most off the year our team for this game is rubish
they should either have hohia at 6 ropatie in the centres ropatie played their all of last season he will go ok their. or leave ropatie at 6 have vuna in the centres and hohia on the bench gatis isnt going to be able to handle a full game at hocker against the storm if we are planing on winning it. i would like to see ropatie on the bench hohia at 6 and vuna at centre. or u could have vuna at fullback webb at 6 and ropatie in the centres with hohia on the bench. with the players avaliable i dont no how this could be your first choice back line

yeah their has to be something going on their but if cleary wants to be a head coach he needs to learn to put his personel issues to the side and pick the team on form and who is best in what position and the best thing for the team is hohia at 6 and ropatie at centre or on the bench

yeah he did play their last week and i think it was a surpirse to all warriors fans because i thought he would have been moved to 6 during the game the only reason he went so goo dthier was because the cowboys where rubish. hohia offers more then ropatie does when playing at 6 and ropatie offers more then hohia does playing at centre so iam hopeing they are makeing melbour think that hohia is going to be at centre and ropatie is going to play at 6 but when the gams starts they swap positions

he played centre against an understrength and out of form cowboys.
itll be totally different against an unbeaten at home storm.

Its a different story for any team wanting to win in Melbourne at the moment, The storm are hot even if there was some s in the Armour against the Broncos.
I would be surprised if the Warriors got up but they are very capable of beating anyone in this competition and if the Storm are going to lose any on their run home its most likely going to be against the Warriors.
Iam sure Hohaia wont play the traditional centres game so Iam not worried about him iam more worried about our ability to handle the Storms quick play the balls and speed in the backs.

Yeah there has been tension between Hohaia's dad and the warriors, Hohaia's dad is his manager and was disillusioned at his sons lack of game time so floated the idea that they may look at other clubs and attempt to get out of the Warriors contract - I think a couple of clubs showed some mid season interest in him but things eventually simmered down and a cover up happened concerning the whole matter.

We may loose Hohia soon, whenever his contract ends. Looking forward to the game and I'll take this time to say that Cleary is a better coach than Kemp will ever be.

Lets hope the Storm will take this game for granted, lets hope they think they can win this match in the first ten minutes, if they do this we might just win.
A few injuries here and there, but the Warriors pack doesn't look that shabby.
