Some more information on GripShift for PS3 including a few screenshots.

Note that the preview mentions 125 level variations across 25 race tracks. There are actually 150 different levels which includes 25 seperate race tracks.

One idea I put up on the GameFAQs board of Gripshift that hasn't already been mentioned is this: Anti-grav track peices. Inspired by the Anti-grav portions in Crash Nitro Kart, this will allow things like corkscrews and loops to be stretched to lengths that would usually result in the racer going "Woaaaaahhh.....!!!!" *Fall Out*. For implimation into the Editor, adding larger and larger slopes (the line could be replaced with a Circle of Slope types), until the more-than-vertical slopes become anti-grav. This could allow for things such as oval loops and more roller-coaster type gameplay.

Another idea is to change the Start peice into a Main Checkpoint, so that you can start on an island, and lock the Start Checkpoint onto the track like normal ones. The little end of the Start peice could be shown as a Stub peice, for more 'proffesional' ends to ramps and jumps and such (unless you WANT it to look like they ran out of money to finish the track, heheh).

For the Races, taking from games like Mario-Kart, and CTR (loved that game), have Green Stars which, after collecting a few, increses a weapons power. Also include weapons in Challenge Tracks (so you have to blow down a brick wall to continue). Also include the One-way track peices in the Editor (I noticed you couldn't use them).

Have to go, I'll post more later.
