The players selected in the 23-man squad are:

Goalkeepers: Mark Schwarzer, Brad Jones, Michael Petkovic

Defenders: Lucas Neill, Brett Emerton, Michael Beauchamp, Michael Thwaite, Mark Milligan, Patrick Kisnorbo

Midfielders: Mark Bresciano, Harry Kewell, Tim Cahill, Vince Grella, Mile Sterjovski, Luke Wilkshire, Jason Culina, Carl Valeri, Nick Carle, David Carney

Forwards: Mark Viduka, John Aloisi, Archie Thompson, Brett Holman

Carney in the side. I guess it gives us options on the left, though he is a big shock selection. Great looking squad. Loving the midfield. Interesting to see McDonald not included. Shows Arnold doesn't rate him highly. Can't believe Chipperfield wasn't selected! Though apparently, his wife is preggers.Spiranovic is a tad unlucky even though the lad hasn't been internationally capped yet.

Allround good looking squad, and cannot wait to watch us in action!

My team would be:

Keeper: Schwarzer
Left Back: Kisnorbo
Right Back: Emerton
Centre Backs: Neil and Beauchamp
Defensive Mid: Culina
CM: Cahill
AMR: Bresciano
AML: Grella
FR: Kewel
FL: Dukes

Not the usual team but still very good.

Will this team win any games? As in, should I jump on the Soccer bandwagon again?

This team is tipped to win the Asian cup. Also no if you are going to bandwagon you should not jump on unless you would still support them if Thailand thrashed us.

Interesting to see McDonald not included. Shows Arnold doesn't rate him highly. Celtic just bought him and asked if he could be excused and he said yes as he is trying to break into the squad and is banned from the first 2 SPL matches so he only has CL and Trials to prove himself in.

Can't believe Chipperfield wasn't selected! Though apparently, his wife is preggers. He asked not too play due to his missus.

Spiranovic is a tad unlucky even though the lad hasn't been internationally capped yet.

He is the next big thing so I think he should have been there but even if it is just for experience.

Sorry? So you're happy to include the large numbers of bandwagon supporters that help boost the TV ratings, numbers of kids playing the game, crowd figures etc. after the WC but you aren't a fan of people jumping on the bandwagon? The reason why soccer increased it's standing in Australia can mostly be contributed to bandwagoners.

Nope. McDonald actually said he is 100% committed to the Socceroos and will play if selected.

He would have sat on the bench for the entire campaign.

We're favourites to win. I advise you to jump on the bandwagon. ;)

How are supporters bandwagoners? Because when a team starts winning people buy merchandise, tickets etc.
How are player bandwagoners? Because when a team starts winning people register to play. They jump on the bandwagon. "Hey, yeah I love soccer! I play it!"

If the Socceroos hadn't of made it to the WC do you think that people registering to play would have increased?
