If this is true why would he kill his wife one day and his son the next. I hope it isn't true that he killed his wife and kid because he was such a respected man and that's the way I would like him to see him leave.
This Vince being dead storyline looks silly now. We've had Sherrie die and Beniot die please Vince show your face next week after the tribute and stop these nonsense.

This is the article that will probably turn up in newspaper outlets tomorrow:
Wrestler Benoit Found Dead With Family
Tuesday June 26, 8:54 am ET
By Debbie Newby, Associated Press Writer
Authorities Await Autopsies in Deaths of Wrestler Chris Benoit, Wife, 7-Year-Old Son
FAYETTEVILLE, Ga. (AP) -- Pro wrestler Chris Benoit canceled a pay-per-view appearance at the "Vengeance" event in Houston because of "personal reasons" a day before he, his wife and their 7-year-old son were found dead in an apparent murder-suicide.
Details of the deaths "are going to prove a little bizarre" when released to the public, Fayette County District Attorney Scott Ballard told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Autopsies were scheduled Tuesday by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation in DeKalb County.
Authorities were investigating the deaths at a secluded Fayette County home as a murder-suicide and were not seeking any suspects.
Investigators believe Benoit, (pronounced ben-WAH) killed his wife and son over the weekend and then himself sometime Monday. The bodies were found Monday afternoon in three different rooms of the house on Green Meadow Lane, in a subdivision off a gravel road about two miles from the Whitewater Country Club.
Ballard told The Associated Press a gun was not used in any of the deaths. But he declined to say how the three died.
"We're pretty sure we know, but we want to confirm it with the crime lab," Ballard said early Tuesday.
Fayette County Coroner C.J. Mowell did not return phone calls. The answering service for his funeral home said he was out of town.
World Wrestling Entertainment said on its Web site that it asked authorities to check on Benoit and his family after being alerted by friends who received "several curious text messages sent by Benoit early Sunday morning."
Sheriff's Lt. Tommy Pope told WSB-TV that the three were found about 2:30 p.m., but he wouldn't release other details.
Stamford, Conn.-based WWE also said on its Web site it had been asked by authorities not to release further information on the deaths of Benoit, 40; his wife, Nancy, 43; and son, Daniel.
Benoit was born in Montreal. He was a former world heavyweight champion, Intercontinental champion and held several tag-team titles over his career. He was known by several names including "The Canadian Crippler."
"WWE extends its sincerest thoughts and prayers to the Benoit family's relatives and loved ones in this time of tragedy," the company said in a statement on its Web site.
Benoit had maintained a home in metro Atlanta from the time he wrestled for the defunct World Championship Wrestling.
The WWE canceled its live "Monday Night RAW" card in Corpus Christi, Texas, and USA Network aired a three-hour tribute to Benoit in place of the scheduled wrestling telecast.
Benoit's wife managed several wrestlers and went by the stage name, "Woman," The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.
They met when her then-husband drew up a script that had them involved in a relationship as part of an ongoing story line on World Championship Wrestling, the newspaper said.
Benoit has two other children from a prior relationship.

Wrestler Chris Benoit strangled wife, smothered son
By staff writers and wires
June 27, 2007 06:53am
PROFESSIONAL wrestling superstar Chris Benoit strangled his wife, smothered his seven-year-old son and then hanged himself from his gym equipment in a double murder-suicide that took place over three days, police have said.
Benoit and his wife Nancy and young son Daniel were discovered on Monday afternoon inside their home in Fayetteville, Georgia, an Atlanta suburb.
Police have also said anabolic steroids were found in the house, but they would not speculate on a possible motive for the crimes.
Nancy was killed on Friday in family room on an upper level of the family mansion. Blood was found under her head and her feet and wrists were bound, the county's district attorney said.
Daniel died late on Saturday or early Sunday. His body was found in his bed, the prosecutor Scott Ballard said, according to the Associated Press.
Bibles were placed beside both bodies. Police have said autopsies have shown all three died of asphyxiation.
The 40-year-old WWE superstar then waited up to a full day before taking his own life by hanging himself using a pulley on one of his weights machines, Mr Ballard said.
He said it was "bizarre" that Benoit had apparently stayed inside the house with the bodies for up to two full days.
"I'm baffled about why anybody would kill a seven-year-old," Mr Ballard said. "I don't think we'll ever be able wrap our head around that."
Benoit's employer, World Wrestling Entertainment, said on its website that he canceled two events in Texas over the weekend, citing an undisclosed family emergency.
Benoit then sent “several curious text messages” to friends early Sunday morning and this prompted authorities to check on Benoit and his family at their home.
Nicknamed “The Rabid Wolverine” and “The Canadian Crippler,” Benoit was one of the leading international stars of professional wrestling.
He began his career in his native Canada more than 20 years ago and wrestled in Japan before moving back to North America.

My theory was that he strangled them both and hung himself. I was close. I wonder why he snapped. I don't think it would be roid rage. The autopsy will show if it is though.

"Roid Rage" has been ruled out, as athough anabolic steroids were found on the premisis, and Benoit's last drug test came back clean, they were not for Chris (April 10th).
WWE® Shocked At Latest Developments In Benoit Tragedy, Concerned By Sensationalistic Reporting
Written: June 26, 2007STAMFORD, Conn., June 26, 2007 – World Wrestling Entertainment is stunned and saddened by the details released by local authorities concerning the double homicide-suicide involving Chris Benoit, his wife, Nancy, and his son, Daniel.
However, WWE is concerned with the sensationalistic reporting and speculation being undertaken by some members of the media following the press conference held by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department and the District Attorney. During the press conference, the investigating authorities made the following points, all of which run contrary to the media speculation that "roid rage" was a factor in the senseless murders and suicide:
1. The authorities stated that all drugs found in the house were believed to be legal prescriptions.
2. Steroids were not, and could not, be related to the cause of death (asphyxiation). Authorities had no factual basis to speculate as to Benoit’s state of mind, and rightly did not do so.
3. Toxicology tests have not even been completed, so there is no current evidence that Benoit even had steroids or any other substance in his body. In that regard, on the last test done on Benoit by WWE's independently administered drug testing program, done on April 10, 2007, Benoit tested negative.
4. The physical findings announced by authorities indicate deliberation, not rage. The wife's feet and hands were bound and she was asphyxiated, not beaten to death. By the account of the authorities, there were substantial periods of time between the death of the wife and the death of the son, again suggesting deliberate thought, not rage. The presence of a Bible by each is also not an act of rage.
5. WWE strongly suggests that it is entirely wrong for speculators to suggest that steroids had anything to do with these senseless acts, especially when the authorities plainly stated there is no evidence that Benoit had steroids in his body, pending the toxicological reports, and that they had no evidence at this time as to the motive for these acts.
WWE is continuing to monitor the ongoing investigation being conducted by local authorities.
However, their son Daniel was on HGH for being "undersized".

WWE WEBSITE QUIETLY REMOVES CHRIS BENOIT CONTENT, TONIGHT'S WWE EVENTS AND MORE
by Mike Johnson @ 12:24:00 PM on 6/26/2007
World Wrestling Entertainment's website has quietly removed many of the galleries and stories pertaining to Chris Benoit today, replacing them with promotional articles designed to promote the company's Divas and storylines. The article WWE posted late last night about the Benoit family tragedy remains the lead story of the website.
Benoit's profile on the ECW website section has been removed and the ECW website's main focus is on Johnny Nitro's ECW championship win over CM Punk at the Vengeance PPV. As we noted earlier today, the company has pulled all Benoit merchandise as well as any match listings of Benoit matches from WWE DVD releases.
WWE will air a live ECW and tape Smackdown tonight. The scheduled event for developmental company Florida Championship Wrestling in Tampa will also take place as scheduled. The Smackdown/ECW taping is expected to focus solely on wrestling matches with no storyline angles.
In regards to the merchandise, they have even changed the details of the Wrestlemania XX DVD, stating that the main event was "Triple H defending the World Heavyweight Championship against Shawn Michaels"
Even if you type in Chris Benoit into the company's search engine and try and upload his profile, it comes back with the response "Not Found".

WWE News: Benoit's son Daniel had Fragile X syndrome, Benoit tried to hide it
By Wade Keller, Torch editor
Jun 26, 2007, 22:18
A woman tells News 1130 in Vancouver, B.C. that Chris Benoit's son Daniel had a condition called Fragile X syndrome. Wikipedia describes the symptoms:
Aside from intellectual disability (mental retardation), prominent characteristics of the syndrome include an elongated face, large or protruding ears, flat feet, larger testicals in men (macroorchidism), and low muscle tone. Behavioral characteristics may include stereotypic movements (e.g., hand-flapping) and atypical social development, particularly shyness and limited eye contact. Some individuals with the fragile X syndrome also meet the diagnostic criteria for autism. While full mutation males tend to present with severe intellectual disability, the symptomology of full mutation females runs the gamut of minimally affected to severe intellectual disability, which may explain why females are underdiagnosed relative to males.
The woman interviewed for the News 1130 story says her family was in contact with the Benoits, but they didn't want to go public with the disease and chose to keep things low profile. She added that families can be torn apart by the disease because it's very difficult to find help and support. She said, "You as a parent have to go out there and find what's available and it's not easy --they don't tell you."
W.K. Analysis: This may explain why Daniel was taking growth hormone injections. It also may shed light onto why Chris didn't want someone else raising his son and made the fateful decision to kill him. As irrrational and twisted as it may sound, he may have felt he was saving his son from the double-blow of losing his parents through a murder-suicide and being subject to being raised by people who didn't understand or care for his condition

The following is a timeline of how the Benoit situation unfolded:
STAMFORD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--World Wrestling Entertainment today released additional details of what it knows concerning communication with Chris Benoit and authorities before and after the tragic double homicide-suicide involving Benoit, his wife Nancy, and his son, Daniel.
WWE's timeline of events began on Saturday:
On Saturday, June 23, Chris Benoit was slated to appear at a WWE live event in Beaumont, Texas. That afternoon, Benoit contacted WWE to inform them that his wife and child were ill, and that he would not be able to attend the show.
WWE executives rebooked Benoit's flight for the following morning, allowing Benoit to miss the Beaumont event and making alternate arrangements for him to attend the pay-per-view event in Houston on Sunday.
WWE employees attempted to confirm with Benoit his travel plans but were unable to contact him.
Early Sunday morning, between 3:51 and 3:58 a.m., Benoit sent five text messages to co-workers:
Text Message 1 to two co-workers (sent 6/24 at 3:53am)- Chris Benoit's
cell phone
"My physical address is 130 Green Meadow Lane, Fayetteville Georgia.
30215"
Text Message 2 to two co-workers (sent 6/24 at 3:53am)- Chris Benoit's
cell phone
"The dogs are in the enclosed pool area. Garage side door is open"
Text Message 3 to two co-workers (sent 6/24 at 3:54am)- Nancy Benoit's
cell phone
"My physical address is 130 Green Meadow Lane.
Fayetteville Georgia. 30215"
Text Message 4 to two co-workers (sent 6/24 at 3:55am)- Nancy Benoit's
cell phone
"My physical address is 130 Green Meadow Lane.
Fayetteville Georgia. 30215."
Text Message 5 to one co-worker (sent 6/24 at 3:58am)- Nancy Benoit's
cell phone
"My address is 130 Green Meadow Lane. Fayetteville Georgia. 30215"
Throughout the day on Sunday, WWE made numerous attempts to contact Benoit both at home and at local hospitals in the Atlanta area. As of 11:00 p.m., WWE officials were unable to establish contact with Chris Benoit.
At 12:30 p.m. on Monday, June 25, WWE officials were notified of the text messages sent to the co-workers the previous day. By 12:45 p.m., WWE had contacted Fayetteville County Sheriff's office requesting they check on the Benoit family.
Fayetteville County Sheriffs office made contact with WWE at approximately 4:00 p.m. advising that they had entered the house of Chris Benoit and found three deceased bodies - an adult male, adult female and a male child. WWE was told that Benoit's home was now considered a major crime scene.
The decision to cancel the live event scheduled in Corpus Christi that night was made between 4:00 and 5:00 p.m. In keeping with company policy, and with limited knowledge regarding facts of the case, WWE choose to air a memorial dedicated to the career of Chris Benoit. As facts emerged surrounding the case, all tributes to Chris Benoit were removed both on-air and on WWE.com.
WWE was stunned and saddened by the details released today by local authorities and is continuing to monitor the ongoing investigation.

Media organisations are now bringing up past deceased wrestlers saying that they died from conditions related to steriods. The wrestlers include "Mr Perfect" Curt Hennig, "The British Bulldog" Davey Boy Smith, and of course Eddie Guerrero. Out of those three, only Smith died from complications relating to steriod use. Hennig died of a drug overdose, and Guerrero died of a heart attack relating to years of illegal substance abuse.

ECW on SciFi opened with Vince McMahon stating that last night, Monday Night Raw was a tribute show to the late Chris Benoit. He then stated that 26 hours later, "the facts of this "horrific tragedy are now apparent." McMahon said that after his comments, there will be no mention of Benoit's name and the show will be dedicated to everyone affected by the Benoit tragedy. heres some letters providing some insight to why chris did what he did
I have been a physical therapist for 12 years and in private practice for five. I deal a lot with children with fragile x, autism, autistic spectrum disorders (asperger's, PDD, etc.), and ADHD. In my experiences, these children are very difficult to deal with. They tend to display irrational impulsivity and other sociopathic behaviors. They often have motor development issues and self stimulating behaviors (repetitive noise making, head banging, etc.). They definitely require constant attention and supervision. This is not to say that Chris Benoit's son had symptoms to this extreme but this factor can not be underestimated when trying to understand this horrific tragedy.
The strain this sort of special needs child places on a family is immeasurable. Then when you combine the facts that Chris Benoit had the stigma of being a small man in a big man's world and his child was grossly undersized, it is easy to see the emotional and psychological toll his son's condition must have taken on him.
Sincerely,
Joe Avolio
I can say that I have spent the better part of the past three days on PWTorch.com, reading the many articles that you, your staff, and readers have been posting. Thanks for making an it an objective, unbiased look at this tragedy from all angles.
As far as the reported fact that Daniel was taking HGH, I was born two months premature back in 1964. I only weighed 1 lb. 15 oz. and was at the time the smallest baby born in the hospital to survive. During my entire childhood and adolescent life I took HGH in pill form, one dose every day. This is not uncommon to be prescribed by a pediatrician as a way to increase a child's development and growth curve. Of course, all the mainstream media are making out to be a sinister thing. Keller, keep up the great work.

Since Mr. Benoit’s son had Fragile X, pro wrestling could make a positive out of this tragedy. As a fragile X father, I know that your take on the stress to family life the syndrome creates is correct. It would be great if WWE could do an awareness/fundraising event for Fragile X.

Over the last few days, I have suffered the same shock and anger as all wrestling fans regarding the Benoit family tragedy. More stunning and insightful though was the information that young Daniel Benoit suffered from Fragile X Syndrome. While I'm sure it's the hottest topic on "Google" today, I can tell you what the web sites won't.
I work at Lakeview NeuroRehabilitation Center in New Hampshire. We are a residential brain-injury facility and deal with many forms of birth defect including Fragile X Syndrome (FXS). I can tell you from experience that a child having severe FXS is never a happy ending for the suffering family. Most provide home care until age 8-10 until severe behavioral problems force the families into residential care. The costs associated with this type of care start in the $150,000 per year range, with the most minimal amount of supervision. More likely, (based upon my existing patients) this child would have needed 1:1 care 18hrs. / day. At my facility that's close to $300k per year. Given that Benoit probably had insurance, (I can't imagine he didn't) he would have still needed to kick in 10% - 40% of the bill until Daniel reached the age of 21. At that time, adults with FXS become emancipated from their parents and go on to Medicade. Typically, they remain at these types of facilities for the rest of their lives.
Beyond the financial burden, the grief support system for the parents is often ignored. MOST Special Needs parents can't handle the stress that a child with Fragile X Syndrome brings to a relationship. Most divorce and many abandon the child into the state's welfare system. And please before you judge, you've probably never looked down that dark tunnel and seen that there's no light at the end. The despair felt by many parents is simply overwhelming. Add in the whole steroid component and...well. We're right here, where we are now, wondering what went wrong and why it didn't get stopped before it happened.
I wish that this tragedy could have been avoided. I know that I will miss the Wrestler, Chris "the Canadian Crippler" Benoit. I can understand the loss and anger felt by the families of the Benoits. But before we paint Chris Benoit with such broad strokes lets look at why this senseless tragedy occurred and how we can stop it from happening again.

Thank you for your analysis on the Benoit tragedy. As a mother of children with Fragile X syndrome I do understand how challenging and difficult life can become dealing with Fragile X syndrome. It's not an easy life, and without proper supports and services available, it's an enormous burden for families to carry.
This is not the first murder/suicide with a connection to Fragile X.
On a Sunday afternoon in April 2006, Alison Davies and her 12-year-old son, Ryan, leapt to their deaths from the Humber Bridge, in England, leaving behind only a short note for family, "Don't worry about me. I don't want to be a burden. I don't want to fail Ryan any more. I wish you all the happiness you truly deserve. Alison."
Davies had a history of depression. Combine that with the fact that she was a single parent and primary caregiver of a child like mine, who has Fragile X Syndrome, and the consequences were ultimately tragic.
It's a story that has haunted me since the first news release that told of their journey. I cried then, and I still cry now.
I never felt anger towards Davies; I only felt sorrow and empathy for Alison, Ryan, and their family. To be frank, I felt relieved that I have never experienced that level of desperation.
My anger with this story was always directed towards the lack of social services - support that could have been available that might have changed the outcome. Sadly, the lack of services and support is not unique to England, nor does it apply only to children with developmental disabilities.
Nothing can change what happened in the Benoit household, but in memory of Daniel, I hope the wrestling community can step up to the mat to help the children and families affected by and living with Fragile X everyday of their lives.
We need help with awareness and we need help raising funds for research. Can you help us get the word out about Fragile X? Can you help us create a positive from this tragedy?
Fragile X, unlike autism, receives little funding through the government, much of the research is funded by private organizations like FRAXA Research Foundation, a non-profit created by families living with Fragile X.
On Monday, an important announcement was made on the Fragile X front; an enzyme was discovered that when inhibited in Fragile X mice reversed the symptoms. Scientists believe if it has the same effect in humans, there might be a viable treatment in five years. Five years is right around the corner; in five years my son will be 20. This treatment and other treatments in the pipeline could make an enormous difference in his life, it could be the difference in him being able to live independently or in a group home. I am not going to be here forever and I don't believe anyone will love or care for my son as I do. Without effective treatments at times live in fear of what tomorrow may bring.
FRAXA Research Foundation has an enormous challenge to accomplish. Doris Buffett has donated $500,000 to research with a promise of donating an additional $500,000 if the organization can raise $500,000 in new donations by October 2007. At this time we have raised $200,000.
If anyone wants to do something that will help children like Daniel, I hope they can find it in their hearts to donate to FRAXA Research Foundation, www.fraxa.org, in memory of Daniel Benoit.

DA: No State Charges in Benoit Case
Monday July 2, 11:27 am ET
By Harry R. Weber, Associated Press Writer
DA Says No State Charges in Chris Benoit Probe for Now, Fed Probe Ongoing
ATLANTA (AP) -- The state prosecutor in the Chris Benoit investigation said Monday he has no plans to file criminal charges in the case, but whether the federal government does is an open question.
"From our standpoint, I have no reason to believe there will be any criminal charges at the current time," Fayette County District Attorney Scott Ballard told The Associated Press. "What the federal government is going to do, it will be up to them."
A spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's office declined to say Monday if any charges were planned.
Federal drug agents have taken over the probe into whether the pro wrestler's personal physician, Dr. Phil Astin, improperly prescribed testosterone and other drugs to Benoit before he killed his wife and son and committed suicide in his suburban Atlanta home last month. Ballard and sheriff's officials are overseeing the death investigation.
Astin's attorney, Manny Arora, said Monday there could be federal charges filed against Astin in connection with the drug probe.
"I wouldn't be shocked if there's some charges that come out of this," Arora told AP, adding that he had spoken with federal authorities and that his client will turn himself in if he is asked to do so.
Authorities have said Benoit strangled his wife and 7-year-old son, placing Bibles next to their bodies, before hanging himself on the cable of a weight-machine in his home.
Authorities have conducted two raids since last week at Astin's west Georgia office.
Among other things, investigators were looking for Benoit's medical records to see whether he had been prescribed steroids and, if so, whether that prescription was appropriate, according to a law enforcement official speaking on condition of anonymity because records in the case remain sealed.
Astin prescribed testosterone for Benoit, a longtime friend, in the past but has not said what, if any, medications he prescribed when Benoit visited his office June 22, the day authorities believe Benoit killed his wife.
Meanwhile, toxicology tests on Benoit's body have not yet been completed, Ballard said.
Anabolic steroids were found in Benoit's home, leading officials to wonder whether the drugs played a role in the killings. Some experts believe steroids can cause paranoia, depression and violent outbursts known as "roid rage."
Ballard said finding a motive in the case remains elusive.
"I think it will always be undetermined as to 'Why?'" Ballard said. "I think it's because there can't be any satisfactory reason why you kill a 7-year-old."

Not a man to avoid the spotlight, Hulk Hogan has now made a statement on the Benoit tragedy. And it's (not suprisingly) wierd.
