Has there ever been any talk of moving the goal posts to the back of the endzone.
Has there been any thought of going to the wishbone goalposts the CFL and NFL use.For safety reasons.

Guys this is a great forum.Like to thank you for the responces. Please keep filling in the blanks for me still learning the game yet.
Rugby: Australian League: Cronulla Sharks vs. North Queensland Cowboys(Repeat)
My uncle gets fox sports world so hoping to get to see a few more games this year then I did last. The problem still being I am still really new to the sport.I`ve watched Rugby Union but I`ve found Rugby league 10 times as exciting.
Its a tribute to the game of Rugby that so many different codes developed from game weather it be Union ,League,American or Canadian football

the biggest difference it think you will find is that league is much more physically demanding while still maintaining a wonderful pace. it'll blow you away. keep watching it.....we might win you back to the true light side of football codes :p

No offence, but playing both, Rugby Union much more demanding and phsical.
League is more exiciting to watch/play

I do like what the NRL does with the ball when its kicked in goal.If its not brought out the kicking team gets it back with a new set of tackles.
Article 4: Single Point or Rouge
If the ball is kicked into the goal area by an opponent, a rouge is scored (1) when the ball becomes dead in possession of a team in its own goal area or (2) when the ball touches or crosses the deadline, or a side-line-in-goal, and touches the ground, a player, or some object beyond these lines.
AR Team A kicks to Team B. B1 attempting to catch the ball on Team B 3 yard line, fumbles it and is tackled with the ball in possession in the Team B goal area. Ruling - rouge (ball deemed to have been kicked into goal area by Team A).
AR Team A kicks to Team B. B1 catches the ball in the field of play while moving towards own goal line and, in the judgment of the official, the momentum carries B1 into own goal area. Ruling - possession deemed to have been gained in the goal area.
After a rouge the team scored against shall next put the ball into play by a scrimmage as first down at any point between the hash marks on its 35-yard line.
If the single point was scored as the result of an unsuccessful field goal attempt the team scored against may elect to scrimmage the ball at any point between the hash marks on its own 35 yard line or at the previous line of scrimmage.
This is our rule on it so we tend to take the ball out of the endzone and there are great plays trying to get out of the endzone just like the NRL.The Americans just take the knee and take at their 20 the team that was kicked to.
Man I think it would be awsome if the CFL adopted the NRLs rule.Especially with our large endzones at 20 yards. You could kick it deep to the back and let them try to get out.

keep watching fox sports, league is the greatest game of all. i find that its better than union as something can come from nothing just like that while in union u have to work harder for field position etc. wats the difference between canadian and american football. the only reference i have to canadian football is the south park episode where the 2 teams are called rumpriders? anyways

As a watcher of both I find that league is alot better. It is faster and you don't get the stoppages. Biggest differance is the number of players in league you have forwards and backs on at once so you get alot better mix and a few bigger hits. Plus leagues is played on GRASS not that artificial turf NFL plays on. (Takes guts to play on that because if you get tackled on it it burns like heck.
To answer the original Q no there is no thought of it as the posts play a major part in the game. Some of the best tries are scored of kicks hitting the posts.

On the last tackle alot of playmakers, usually the five eight or half back attempt to grubber kick along the ground to hit the post so the opposition Fullback covering inside the ingoal is disadvantaged, wrong footed, fooled by the ball hitting the post and changing direction.
Since the attacking team chasers are following the ball from behind its easier for them to change direction if the ball hits the post unlike the Fullback who would normally be chasing the ball on a diagonal or sideways line, their change of direction if the ball had to hit the post would in most cases be extreme.
Its a R.L play which is exciting when successfully executed.
