Whats This Primeminster Team All About

I think it is just trying to keep all the players who didnt make the top 8 fit just in case they make the Tri Nations squad. They play PNG in a one off match up there i think.

Bulldogs_4_life

A team made up of Players from Teams Who didnt make the Top 8.They will go to PNG to play PNG in mid September ;)

PNG are going to be physical, and this side is not big enough. They'll still win, but their forwards are going to have a tough job. It's especially bad in the front row. Ross and Price can only be relieved by Tupou and Newton, who are both second rowers.

Hasn't he been playing 2nd row of late? Even so, there's not a lot of size about the team.

alex_the_rooster_man
06-09-2005, 07:31 PM
nah he replaces david shillington after about 20 minutes and becomes a front rower

Bulldogs_4_life
06-09-2005, 07:35 PM
He can play Front row or Second Row.. Just like SBW.. He could play front Row or Second Row. Mason can play front row or Second Row.Toni Carrol can play front row, or second row or lock. Anasta can play second row... you know there are players that can play more than one position if needed.. Examples above..

Don't you think it's be better to have a prop on fresh, instead of a bloke whose already played 20 minutes in the forwards?

I think Clint Newton deserves to be there. Kurt Gidley is a BIG suprise.

topou comes off the bench every game he might be named to start but always ends up on the bench

Go the Rabbitohs!

I think its a great team. I'm glad Sutton & Hegs are in there. But because Ash is going to the roosters I am not glad to see him in there! :)

OMG NO MINICHILLO this is a joke

Is he really needed?
Last time we met it was 74-12 or something...
Anyway the point of this is to attract people to the game and give other people a chance to make the Australian team ;)

Minichiello is already in the touring squad...give scifcokske a chance!

Doggiesfan
06-09-2005, 10:19 PM
Yeah, the point is to give those people who won't make Australia a chance to represent for Australia in a different way. Having said that, I have no idea why Price was chosen in the side. Him and Civoniceva should be first choice propls picked for the Tri Nations.

We played the yanks after a long NRL Season and a tour of England and France. Everyone was really tired. It was stupid to play them. Mason got injured and din't appear until round 20 this season. Him not being there killed us.

they played on astroturf. its not suited for league. its suited players running straight up and down a field. like sprinters. it was a test match and it shouldve been played like one. every time the australian jersey is put it should be played like youre playing for your life. half the players didnt take this on board. thats why they got hurt. you go in half assed and youll get hurt. you want to talk about tarnishing the australian jumper, talk to willie mason. he deserved it the way he played

im not bashing anyone. i said willie mason went over there half assed and he payed the price. cut it out with the bulldogs crap already. i was stating a fact that some others missed. i dont give a crap which club he plays for. its a well known fact that if your not in it 100%, you will get injured. mason still thinks the game was a joke. because his dont stink and he plays for australia. he doesnt have pride in the jersey because he wouldve had a go, belted some yanks, done australia proud and not get hurt. but he went there kicking and screaming and he got hurt. i dont "bash" the bulldogs. i give it when its called for. same with any other team

top call jackass, i went to see the wedding crashers. because i didnt close the window doesnt mean im not here. ill go and work for 10 hours with the window open. just because it says im online doesnt mean i am. he didnt love it. the FACT is that mason didnt want TO PLAY FOR AUSTRALIA, AGAINST ANOTHER NATION. he came to a TEST match half d and it meant nothign to him. he then joked about it on several occasions about what a crap idea it was.

Thats incorrect. He was born in Auckland. The point is, he could've chosen to play for NZ but he chose to play for Australia because of his love for the country.

Im confused, I will have to ask him next time I see him..

But the Bottom line is, he HAS grown up basically his whole life in Australia, he Speaks With an Australian Accent, and He is a Very Aussie bloke, I know because I have met him several times. To say he doesnt play with Pride for Australia and that He doesnt want to play for Australia is so Ridiculous its actually Laughable.

He plays with pride. We both know that.

When Willie was asked who he thought was the best player ever, he responded:

"Wally Lewis. Even though I’m a NSW player and wear the Sky Blue jersey with pride I secretly wish I could play like Wally."

He says Mason doesn't have pride wearing the Green and Gold. WTF? The guy was out for about 35 weeks because he injured himself in the process of scoring a try- a try that, had it not been scored, would've resulted in a very embarrassing draw. In the end we won by 6 and if Mason wasn't so committed, we'd have drawn and been considered a laughing stock.

Nobody has to. It isn't compulsory. Price is good enough but nobody says he has to play. Just because he gets picked is there a rule saying he HAS to play? No. That year, Mason had played 27 club games, 3 Origins and 6 test matches before the game against the USA. Thats just as much as Minichiello had played last year. Neither of them had to play. Bennet would've understood if they chose to sit that one out.

But Mason went in there and scored a try that ultimately was the difference between the sides and sat on the sidelines for 35 weeks as a result. I've said it before and I've said it again- thats commitment!

If Mason didnt want to play, he wouldnt have.. Bottom Line.. you cant Say he has 'Tarnished' the Aussie Jumper. You cant say he didnt want to play, and you cant Say he didnt try his best, he score dteh Match winning try and sat out 35 weeks in the proccess like Doggiesfan Mentioned, I dont know what a Player needs to do to proove himself worthy of a Test Jumper, But I know Mason has Done it.
