I think it's Stuart Fielden. He's the most determined runner ever and he regularly plays 80 mins. id love to see him smashing Mark O'Meley and Willie Mason in the NRL.

lol... Stuart Fielden is like half the size of Mason. But he's quite a good player though.
I think apart from Webcke (who has retired from rep)... Steve Price is the best prop in the world at the moment. A consistent player who plays the full 80mins, tops the hits up week in week out.

Never gonna happen.
Asotasi is the best prop. He's made more metres than any other prop in the NRL and the second most amount of hitups for a prop in the NRL and can play 80 minutes (in the toughest comp). Playing 80 minutes in ESL is similar to playing 60 minutes in NRL.
Asotasi also hits like a ton of feathers (which, if you go back to year 3, weighs the same as a ton of bricks).

Asotasi has been in superb form... but not the best prop. I would rate him as one of the most improved player of the year though.

Why not the best? ?He has more metres than any other prop.

That's rating him purely in terms of metres gained. There's a lot of other things, many of which are little things that props need to do which aren't recorded as statistics.

Fielden could play 80 mins in the NRL no problem. Doesnt take a backward step and has more desire than any other forward on the planet. I think the aussies cant accept a british player better than their own because they are bitter about the cricket. haha! :D

I believe Shane Webke is the undisputed best prop forward in the game. Call me byast but his heart is in the game. How many can say they've came back from a medial ligament tear after one week's rest to back up for their club?
Steve Price is also another worthy to compare. QLD sorely missed him in the last two origin games...
EDIT: and for the record; england has been bitter about the cricket for the last decade and a half. Give it a rest mate.

hey guys im new to this board.. my first post and i gotta have a say.. i love my league.... but dont forget Fielden and the English Super League is no where near the level of the Australian competition... i dont think Fielden would make a full 80mins in this comp... especially how quality this season has been....
in terms of best props, hands down to Shane Webcke, some1 mentioned him be4, he's been consistantly good week in week out for years and years and years, always plays at full speed no matter what the situation

LUKE "BULL" BAILEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Runs like his life depended on it every hit up.
Cover tackles like a lock.
Can chase down backs and kicks.
The fittest, fatest, most reliable prop in the world.

The Dally M Prop of the Year will/should be between Luke Bailey, Shane Webke and Roy Asotasi. Steve Price could of been up there but injury made him miss alot of games.
Roys the man, I think this year hes stepped up heaps. He was pretty much the Bulldogs forward pack for a while when everyone was injured. He would play like, 60-70 mins straight most games and play all 80 in others. His stats are awesome and in the real games he can make some very good game breakers, wheather it be a big hit, try saver or a big run. In my opinion hes the best prop...
...but he wont win the Dally M. That will be Bailey or Webke.

Well bring him on...we'd love to see how Stuart Fielden can perform here...I accepted the fact that Ellery Hanley was an amazing player in the Winfield Cup back in the day so I can accept a good UK player coming here and succeeding..I am a Morley fan even....and about being bitter...Poms have been since 1989 regarding cricket and well...lets not talk about League haha....just think about this...how many UK players are playing in the NRL compared to Aussies/Kiwis playing in Superleague?....now why is that again? haha...but hey will an NRL Club even give Fielden a contract?..thats another thing too..oh BTW..I'd rather have Asotasi anyday.

It's the forwards job to get ontop to allow the halves to do their stuff. Not the other way around.
Best Prop in the world in Steve Price, followed by Bailey. We will see at the end of the year, anyway.

And if you're talking about high profile games he whooped ass in the last 2 Origin series and also came back after missing most of last season to play against the Panthers in the finals and was Dragons best player on the night.

Listen i dont doubt that mason and o'meley are great prop forwards but in my opinion Fielden is the best in the world and he does anything but hang out on the wing as his team are reliant on him driving it in every set as well as his defensive skills. You obviously haven't seen him in action much. I have noticed that alot of aussies on here are very narrow minded towards super league and yes we have established many times that nrl is better but disrespecting a competition that you aint even seen is just plain stupid! and you call me a joke

Any prop forward that plays the 80mins in any competition isn't a poor player. But he is definitely not the best in the world, that title easily belongs to Webcke, Price might have a case to argue.... morley, mason, o'meley, fielden, petro.... they are all a level below webcke and price.

Stuart Fielden is an imposter when compared to our best props he doesn't even measure up the super league comp is full of second rate aussies that couldn't get a start in the NRL and they seem to carve up the super league when they are way past there best so it doesn't say much for your comp

Nobody here really cares about the Challenge Cup. Im sure most coaches would rather have all their star players fit for the Premiership than win the Challenge Cup. And I don't follow cricket.
Leeds being best in the world? Thats a joke. Bulldogs had Sherwin, Utai, Ryan, Mason, O'Meley all out and we only lost by a 6 points. Now that we got ALL our players back, we are coming 12th in the NRL... I don't think Leeds will be much higher than that.

dont even argue that the super league can match it with the NRL, if they could then why is it, that great britain havnt beatn the Kangaroo's in how long?...
and the ONLY reason why the superleague teams might match it with the nrl is cause there are lots of ex nrl players playing in england now, im sure a few play for leeds rhino's as well.... Marcus Bai is the winger isnt he?... *just one off the top of my head*

The only reason that the super league finalist team won because they are fresh there supperleague just finished but for the NRL 2-3 month in there offseason after playing a grueling season of football. If u don't think the Australian comp is the worldd tougest tournment let me refresh ur memory a lot players participate in State Of Origin, City-Country match, Tri-nation(which is in our off season) and as well as the Telstra Premiership. When our tournment finish just wait till they play either Parramatta Eels, St george Illwarra, Broncos, Storm or Tigers. Plus when Andrew Johns came to Warrigton he teared up the

Erm you are forgetting we also have the challenge cup knock out competition which everyone participates in aswell as the 28 rounds unlike the origin and city/country where only certain players play in. And we also have the tri nations remember and most super league players play some sort of internationals in the off season for any of the home nations so you arent that badly off really. I respect the NRL and believe it si the world's best comp but super league is still a great comp and people who dont respect it obviously dont watch it. as for joey johns carving up the mighty rhinos of course he was gonna and dont tell me he doesnt do exactly the same in the nrl each week

he doesn't, because his team has the wooden, maybe thay missed due to injury but the on the back end of the season his team was on fire for a wooden spoon side. My point is that a side with Andrew Johns isn't invincible. The whole team needs to play good. So he doesn't carve each NRL side each week. I believe Shane Webke is the best prop in the world. With is passion to go forward each hit-up,toughnest/ mental toughnest. Great in defence. abilty change the game with his presence and the list go on. You ask any England or Australian player that play with or against you will see who the best prop in the world. No prop in Austrlia can last the full 80 min(steve price maybe). But a prob isn't judged by how long he plays.

Mate if we took the aussies and kiwis out of the super league we would have a rubbish competition for a few years until we started getting the youths into key positions and eventually we would develop a team who could beat the aussies. It's happened many times in the history of the sport. And remember the aussies haven't been able to defeat the young lions for a god while now showing that we have a better future ahead than the game in Aus.
