This game is quite possibly one of the best games for the PSP. It was on the shelves at my local Fry's so I bought it. Its like Hot wheels, meets mario kart ,mixed with Rollercoaster Tycoon with abundant extras that keeps you playing for no end. The multiplayer is awesome. Much better than I expected. And there are plenty of mulltiplayer minigames to keep a party going for a long time. The game is easy to just pick up and play and the load times are about 2-3 seconds in between each level. This game is one of the most innovative games I have played and quite possibly bests even mario kart. I did not like the music but it does not ruin the game in the least. I just wanted to give this game a try because the gameplay is superb but no one is even looking at it. Just giving the game some attention. I have not got to the track editor but I am still only 8% through. Its a good game. Either way its one of those games that you are suprised.

I am just addicted to this game. Unlocking the goals and completing more and more goals. You just keep on doing it. Its the perfect pick up and play game. This game came from out of nowhere and its hard to imagine not many people know about it. Its just addictive. I never played lumines because I don't like puzzle games but this game is just damn hard to put down. I have played for near 5 hours now and I am only at 12% completion. This game is perfect for a handheld. Enough gameplay to last more than 20 hours but given in such small portions like the levels and its really easy to play. You also have the great benefit that the load times are so small they are barely noticeable. It takes anly 2-3 seconds to load a level and it takes the same time for nearly everything in the game. This is the perfect handheld game and packs enough innovation to redefine a genre of games.

Awesome. Great to see you here after posting your praise on the Gamespot forums :)

Electronics store in the US.

GripShift won't get an Australasia release until later in the year.

I already know that the game may not get the best review scores *looks at EGM* but this game is like a gem. There is absolutely no flaws in the game that I can see. Many people might not know how to solve the puzzles but you have to use different cars for some of the different tracks because their attributes can give you an advantage. Also how did you know that I gave praise to this game on gamespot? Anywho the reviews I could care less about. Right now I am still having fun with Grip Shift and I have put in 9 hours and I am at 15% completion.

I was the one who suggested on GameSpot in your thread that you should post here :)

15% through you say. What Challenge level are you up to? Getting all the medals as you go, or pushing ahead trying to unlock as many as possible?

I am doing both. If I cannot get all the medals I move on to the next. I just hope that it really does not become too challenging before the end. I want to be able to unlock all of the minigames to play with my friends. Also I only wish there was a gameshare option in this game. This game might not be bought by a lot of people but gameshare would have made this thing great for parties. I just started the intermediate challenge. This is just an awesome game. I wish I could put some suggestions in because I just love this game so much.

Feel free to make any suggestions about the game on these forums.

They are being read by the GripShift development team, and they would be more than happy to consider any feedback you and anyone else might have for when the sequel goes into production.

Just a few, more cars, more items, stat building, more power ups, custom soundtrack, and more unique road peices for the track editor like corkscrews. Gamesharing, this would be perfect for the next game. I don't think multiplayer infastructure via online would be good because I think that this game is much more of a social and party game. Get some friends together and just play. It would be perfect with gameshare. And just in case the game may be too hard for some, cheat codes. Nobody wants to miss out on the extras and it would be great if everyone gets to play them whether they are skilled or not. That about does it for suggestions. The game is perfect the way it is.

I saw some info about this game the other day, but the screenshots are what drove me to find out more.
If anyone here has ever played Rollcage Stage 2 for Playstation, there is a mode in it called Scramble, and this game looks identical to that mode. Unfortunately, that was only a minigame-esque mode, with about 20 challenges. This looks like its expanding on that, although I might gather that it also has different elements. But that mode in RC S2 was one of my favorite things in it, so seeing screens for this immediately got my attention.
I saw low scores at Gamerankings, but a 7.5 from IGN made me think better of it. After reading the IGN review, I thought it seemed like the perfect game for a portable system, and it further increased my interest.
So for a person who is interested in it, it is a good purchase?

If you liked Rollcage then there are certainly some similarities. Hard to say whether you will like GripShift without knowing more about what you like.

If you have any doubts about it, you could always rent it and buy it if you like it.

Nah, I heard enough praise from that one person about it, and I am paying for it with store credit I have at a particular game shop. Pro reviews don't mean as much to me than User Reviews, as user reviews are normally people in my same age group, I feel like I can trust what they say, I was going to get Burnout Legends, but it is pretty much the same thing I have played before in previous Burnouts, whereas Gripshift is a new direction for games in general it seems. I don't think I have ever seen a game that combines combat/racing/puzzle/platforming into one game.
Also, I am willing to try new things, and this certainly qualifies as that. Im picking it up tomorrow, if that store has it in, which I hope they do cause I am very excited about playing it now.
