I thought that i saw on some release schedule website that this game was the 28th of october  no idea not enough coverage on this game by this bunch of clowns....

I Just did a google search and also found 2 sites that had it coming out on the 28th Mario can you shed some light on the subject? :)

apparently rugby league 2 is coming out on the 28th according to someone that has been in contact with HES. I don't think either game is coming out in October and its just hype/ speculation

warrior_dog
19-10-2005, 12:30 AM
Rugby league is supposed to be coming out on the 30th of october where as MCC/FDR is supposed to be coming out earlier on the 28th and with the lack of information by HES australia i think they just dont want our money coz i know that if i dont get any information soon i am going to the gallop racer 8, g1 jockey 4 and even breeders cup champion games bandwagon because at least the are reviews out on these games and HES i feel is just screwing it's intended market around.... not happy jan

Mikeeboy

If it ends up being released anywhere near G1 Jockey 4, then it's no contest for me, Frankie will be missing out.

at least KOEI are more efficient in getting to their intended market unlike these bunch of chooks with their heads cut off....

Trying to get permission to provide an update on the situation. The general highlights I can provide now are

- new media is being worked on at the moment including a trailer
- a demo version may be available soon in Victoria
- new licenses have been added which haven't been announced yet which is great news
- not looking great for a November release

As for the comments regarding the release of RL2, no specific release date has been set. Anybody s of contacting HES or ourselves and being given a date are false.

So if not a November release when? there is little or no infomration about this game in the UK.

Good racing games are VERY hard to come by and it will be disappointing if this one misses the lurcrative Xmas market on all sides of the globe!

Apparently the Breeders Cup game is disappointing so there is an opportunity for this game to slip in there and pick up the slack and take over!

i am totally shocked that it wont be out in november, all this time ive been waiting and no doubt a billion others have been 2 for this game to be released

i have been told buy eb that it will be out 1st november but they arn't sure but nobody should believe them even though i did for a month or 2 so i think it should be around then not like december or next year thats just dumb!

i am dispointed about the release but anything else is excellent well done mario and the team

Well done bud:)

Without having a dig, its all sounding a bit too familiar, No info. cant release any without permission but now not coming out on time.

As I said elsewhere, new G1 jockey game out in january, cant see FDR/MCR selling anywhere near as many now if it is clashing with new G1.

Sidhe would have to be disappointed at missing both the end of the NRL season with RL2 and now the Melbourne Cup with MCC. I am still buying both regardless, but I am sure sales will suffer slightly as a result of the delays.

Are you suggesting EA don't delay games? Because they do it all the time.

The Godfather for example got delayed over a year.

I can easily wait another month or 2 for this game as long as they improve it, and fix the bugs it might have in the game.

I don’t want this game to be a shocker like the Breeders’ Cup game.
I currently have that game (Breeder's cup) on order and I’m thinking about cancelling since all the bad reviews it has been getting.

Mario is doing a fantastic job and I can't wait to play the demo and see what the new licenses have added to the game.

Fingers crossed its legendary horses or more races.

why isnt Tecknique coming on here and telegraphing how good the american horse racing game is - NTRA or whatever its called

u could tell it would be crap
doesnt matter what shores the games developed - u need the brains, and with that comes knowhow, and inplementation

Good work Tecknique in promoting that flop

So instead of answering intellegently, you decide to slag off another developer. Well done Mario. You failed to point out the games that have come out on time though. None of which come from your company.

I'm not slagging EA off at all. It was merely suggested that EA have a spotless record with regard to delays. I pointed out they don't have a spotless record, which is a fact as opposed to unsubstantiated slander.

As it happens, our company has developed over 12 games or game projects, only 2 of which to date have been delayed, meaning we have delivered 10 on time which would be a better than average record.

So, the only unintelligent (and not in the least bit factual) answers are coming from you right now.

G1 will flog the pants off this game if it's released at the same time. They shot themselves in the foot by not getting it out by Melbourne Cup time.

Non events? Well, in your eyes maybe, but then we made a profit on every single one of those projects.

Judgeing from what I've just looked at, the graphics alone let 90% of these games down. None of them were on par with anything that was released at the time. How much did they cost you to make? $50?

Vivendi Universal? No mention of Sidhe whatsoever.

If its a line of questioning designed to waste my time then you are doing a great job.

Mario, you said it wasn't looking great for a November release. Would you be more confident of a December release or are we talking in the new year? I know you will say that 'its out of your control, other factors to consider blah blah blah' but just hoping to get the game before the holiday season! Also, any luck with HES allowing you to give us an update?

 Well, if you want to get semantic about it, MCC hasn't been delayed yet so it can't be counted. In any case, I have stated clearly already that a November release is looking unlikely in the interest of prividing people with up to date information.

But that doesn't change the fact that

a) delays are normal in videogame development
b) EA has delayed a number of games in their time
c) Sidhe has delivered the majority of our games on time and on budget

I have no idea which EA sports games you buy, so I wouldn't know.

I do know that the last two EA Rugby titles were delayed from their initial release estimates though, so presumably you haven't been buying those.

I'd rather know that its delayed then not thanks for the info mario....

And I'd rather have a game that dosn't need patch 1, 1.1, 1.2,.... then theirs the old there will be no more patchs for this game.... I can tell you from past experance with Tiger Woods games (EA Sports) that they have done that especally when there working on the next release of the game....

That said you would've thought they would've made the Nov release date for this baby.... Racing leading up to the Melbourne Cup dosn't get any bigger...

jeez people games get delayed all the time a lot of work goes into it!!!

if anything Ive seen EA release bug galore sports games and year after year not bother to make a attempt to fix their game problems and 5 years later there is still the same bugs in there games (cricket franchise for example!!)

the godfather I think was meant to come out September got delayed till march next year

people have to learn what goes on in the gaming business their licensing legal issues programing testing beta alpha stages a lot more then make it pack it in a box and ship it out!!

Every game?

I posted a fairly large list of games we have worked on in this very thread, of which relatively few have been delayed.

I'd just like to ask why people clearly don't read the threads they are posting in?

It seems like me other people have purchased recent Sidhe titles such as Rugby League. This game was delayed on several ocassions. Despite all the time the finished product was low quality and contained many bugs. I just hope RL 2 and MCC are not the same... but so far they seem to be

This game was delayed on several ocassions.

RL1 was delayed twice. Once to accomodate the Xbox SKU, and a second time to resolve some issues found by Sony QA.

How can you say they seem this way, when you haven't played them?

I can see your point with your delay part of your post (this is the case with many games though), but the bug part really isn't easy to tell without having played a game for awhile, surely.

Mario - honest answer (not saying that you've been dishonest previously)- before Christmas??? One thing I always hated was getting sporting games in the last month of the year that they are titled. just change the title to melb cup 2008 and take your time!

anyway-

I've got to get back to aladdin chess I can't stop playing it!!!

I made a profit selling my datsun 120y but let me tell you the graphics weren't great on that either. Not siding with anyone I just want another racing game.....and fast!
