Default RL3 Ideas Thread

This thread is for the next rugby league game, so SIDHE can start taking ideas, i see RL3 as being an even better game please have your say
AND PUT ALL THE PROBLEMS U FIND IN RL2

RL3 should include the following

Gameplay:

New step so it can fit in with the game play

Sholder charge so it can give the game a little action

New kicking game, no matrix, one like rugby 05 to fit in with the behind view

Grass, i see in rl2 the grass colour in soem stadiums are not green green like rl1 which is good, but in rl3 the grass shouldnt be the same at any stadium

Crowd THE CROWD MUST CHANGE THERES GOT TO BE CHANTS OTHERWISE THE GAMES GOING TO GET BORING! please mario, we all got to have some flags going

Jerseys getting dirty

If its raining and the grass is muddy and players are running on it its obvious that the grass with cut up

Pull of jersey when been jersey grabbed


Theres more but im not bothered writing anymore

Shoulder charge? As in a defensive tackle ala sonny bill? Because there is already an attacking shoulder charge that works very very well.

some new ones-
- a player of the match and dally m votes- dally m award at end of year
- more realistic rep sides
- stats to show up on the start menu
- Samoa as an international team

I'd like more comments and get the remaining bugs ironed out. Better online would also be good (I haven't played RL2 online but it seems that there should be some time limit put in place for pausing).

im willing to spend another 70bucks if SIDHE just change the players to have faster reponsse time like Rugby 2005

Altho i like to see the bugs fixed and rules being interperted properly

The kicking system is fine, if the kicking system is like rugby 2005, then getting 40/20 will be hell easy cos you know where its gonna land all the time

ai needs 2 b 1000 times better, a camel has more idea of our 2 defend there line than the players in rugby league 2 and players sometimes move outside the sideline to catch the ball

I've got a heap of ideas but this one came to me yesterday and I was wondering what yall think. Well, you know how there's the matrix kicking in the game well I was thinking and came up with this idea. It goes like this...

Firstly I'd add a Sonny bill style shoulder charge, and I'd keep the shoulder Barge. Then i'd make it so when both players go to hit the shoulder charge and barge at the same time the matrix style camera view kicks and zooms in and around the action and the action slows right down. Then a Meter comes up on screen similar to this |_________|____||___| and both players get to hammer the X button for about 3 seconds to see who can boost the bar the quickest and whoever has the bar full when the timer runs down BAM!, the player who gets it fuller smashes the opposing player. I don't know what you guys think but I think this could be pretty cool. It wouldn't happen all the time, you could still smash each other without this happening but on occasions when you want it to happen just to have that mini contest in the game I think it could add alot of fun to it. Thoughts?.

i think player skills should come into this, for example sherwin is a very good kicker, say 9/10 so his should be within 5 metres of wherever the arrow goes if u no what i mean and players with 10/10 sjould be within 2 metres or something

To stop the game for 3 seconds a couple of times every set could get boring. They should bring player momentum into it. p=mv so the player with greater momentum should put the other guy on his back.

Good point but the way I see it, it wouldn't happen very often because both players would have to get the timing right for it to kick in and I'd say that would be very rare espescially given the fact that tackles happen randomly unless of course there is an option in the next game to select tackles. So it would be a rare event but when it did happen it could add a bit of fun to it.

Oh! I thought you meant that the shoulder charge would be assigned its own button. If it is just another aggressive tackle then your idea may well work if it is implemented well.

Yes. Where do you think they got their ideas for RL2? Sure, they made up a fair bit of the new stuff but a lot would've been an idea given by fans or an idea Sidhe made inspired by something fans have said.

They will prob take small bits of idea and complete the idea themselves.

I highly doubt SIDHE will actually listen to the fans.... THey can hardly do so now.

That's a bit rich mate - we've been listening to the fans since well before the original Rugby League was released and will continue to do so.

-man of the match
-more player specific training
-improved player movements on field
-a small screen in the corner which gives the player a view of the full width of the field
-continued improvements on crowds
-continued improvements on commentary
-acurate hair colour (so many blonde players have black hair, why?)

Solid idea but would interupt gameplay too much.

Every player should have a shoulder charge rating.. The higher it is the bigger the people they can put down.

So if Webke came for a barge while at 100% speed and SBW done it they would both get knocked over. Because Webke is a big fella. But if Campbell came running at SBW he wouldnt have a head left .

Anyway if there was one it would be good if they based it on weight and agression or something.

-Awards: Dally m, man of the match, etc etc ....top try scorers

-Rep team selection needs to be redone, it doesnt go on form at all, rookies that arent even in the team are selected. Dunno how this could slip of out the testing phase cos in my first franchise season most of my rep team was made out of no name players

- More reponse time for players: A MUST

Fix all the bugs and make sure the rules in the game are interpeted right

Fix some online play issues, add a timer when ppl are pause. Have limits of how many times ppl can pause

agreed ^^ michael witt of my eagles team made queensland rep over lockyer and ben kennedy didnt make the blues for origin 3. players i have never heard of made australia....

also

props or another other players that have low kicking stat shouldn't be able to kick as good players with 9 or 10 kicking stat. I can constantly kick field goals with crap kickers e.g Webcke and Civoncieava

all the foundations are there and set for a good future, except:

TWEAK PLAYERS RESPONSIVENESS - ITS UTTER E...THEY ARE TRUCKS
TWEAK THE ABILITY TO SCORE WITHOUT BEING HELD UP...IT SEEMS THE ONLY WAY U COULD NEGATE EASY 5M TRIES IS BY HAVING THE DUMBASS HELD UP TACKLE ANIMATION ALL THE TIME...WHAT A COP OUT

MAKE THE SCALABILITIES TO U CAN DIFFERENTIATE BETWEEN AI AND USER ABILITIES.

SICK TO DEATH OF PROPS RUNNING ME DOWN IN LEGEND AND ABOVE.
SICK TO DEATH IF RUGBY GAMES JUST UPPING THE AI SPEED TO REFLECT A HIGHER DIFFICULTY........GIVE IT SOME REAL AI...GIVE IT SOME SKILL....GET THEM OFF THE ROIDS

One thing that needs to be fixed is how forwards and props can outrun wingers and fullbacks.

I reckon andrew voss's voice doesnt suit the game play i reckon we should have rabbits and andrew voss together (rabbits the main commentor)


quicker gameplay forsure


Players body shapes all have to be different ive noticed that every player in rl1 and rl2 ther all got the same body shape and all the players look the same hight

Benji Marshell how have to ahev his own step if it still stays around the time rl3 arrives

Hair movement would be a good feature aswell

Facial hair, leg hair(some players do)

Different colour shoes


Franchise mode Make it more difficult, the franchise is rl2 is very basic

Change of music forsure, get some licenses

Better graphics 100%

Bring out an xbox version at the same time as any other console




MAIN POINTS

Fix the crowd voices, more chants, banners and flags

Fix the gameplay again its still a bit touchy

bring in 2 commentors

Rabbits the main commentator

Still have vossy but a updater eg telling us about a players injury because thats his real job

GAMES WHICH WE SHOULD LOOK AT 2 GET IDEAS

FIFA 06

RUGBY LEAGUE 2

ESPN NBA 2K5 AND 2K6

ESPN NFL 2K5 AND 2K6

RUGBY O6 soon to come out

All you guys are talking about this new feature, i think that what the next rugby league gme needs is for it to have all gameplay bugs and AI sorted out before the features get added. This includes the speed that players move and the speed in the change in direction. Ai def needs looking at, as i got 2 tries scored on me today by the roosters, because the guy ran through a gap between center and winger, but my wibnger was 1 or 2 meters away from him, and he didnt even attempt to tackle him

i got into space with bott, and mashed the crap out of my speed button then held it, and skandalis caught me!!! either it dont work, or they dont have the right speed and acceleration for bott

I made a 50 metre run with Utai to the tryline about 10 minutes ago against the Roosters. About 30 of those metres he was being chased by Minichiello (the first 20m was getting through the first line) and he made it easily.

On the fly playcalling (similar to NBA live and Rugby 04/5)
Not so much set plays, as league doesnt place as much emphasis on elaborate moves but as radman (i think) suggested, the ability to shift defensive line left/right. Also being able to bring the fullback into the line on attack/defense, Send a man blindside or call for an inside runner (actually this works quite well in RL2 as it is although it does it for you)

They could be mapped onto the Dpad to avoid constant pausing.
