Which artist/band got you into music?

I know this thread has most likely been done, but it wasnt on the first page, thus the creation of this thread. Which band or artist got you into music back when you were younger. It is also interesting to see who still likes the band.

blink-182 got me into music in the first place, and I still rate the band as one of my favourites.

The White Stripes' album Elephant got me into everything i like now. Had it not been for that album who knows what crap i'd be listening to.

Foo fighters got me into all Rock music. Powderfinger got me heavily into music in general.

Boyz II Men early but then I stopped liking music. Surprisingly, I started liking it again when I heard the Living End on Rage back in the day.

alex lloyd got me into pop rock .. which is all i listen to now days

Pink Floyd and Bob Dylan. They are masters with music and lyrics. Nobody is better.

Pink Floyd got me into music in general and Guns N Roses got me into the hard rock/metal genre which happens to now be my fave. I never used to like watching Rage top 50 etc and that sort of music in general like all my friends did.

A mate in primary school gave me a mixed tape with metallica and pantera songs on it. They were the first bands I really liked and they got me into the music I love now.

The Beatles. I saw Hard Day's Night when I was a kid and then raided my dad's vinyl collection. My mam was also a keen Elvis fan.

It really depends.

I got a Good Charlotte CD at a birthday a few years ago, so i listened to them quite a bit, then went off them for a while.

The one day, my sister gave me a grinspoon Album, which got me more heavily into music, then she moved out and took it off me (:()

Then, about a year later, I heard The Ghost Of You - My Chemical Romance on channel V, and have been right into music ever since.

So, its a combination of Good Charlotte, Grinspoon and My Chemical Romance i guess.

a bit embarrising for me... but it was big brovaz, and not so embarising Outkast. But it was the hot lies that got me into the music i listen to know. The hot lies once were good as well, well only for one EP, after thier first thing they sucked and i fell into Punk and Indie Rock

Foo Fighters were probably the first band that I truly fell in love with and really got me into rock/music in general.

Before that, i just went through stages with bands...Offspring, Killing Heidi, Limb Bizkit and Blink to name a few.

First few bands that got me really enjoying music were bands like Kiss, The Sex Pistols, AC/DC, E.L.O and Loverboy.

Hearing Love Shack and Chisel and stuff on the radio when I was very young. That and listening to mum's country CD's with her. That was like '89. Started really getting into it in the very early '90s with my cousins listening to Nirvana, EMF, Guns N Roses, Metallica and stuff.
